Climate Social Forum Proceedings 2020

Following the postponement of COP 26 (the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 26th Conference of the Parties), we felt we need to “join forces” and address the decision-making void. Thus, in March 2020 we created the Climate Social Forum project with the aim of discussing the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on a warming world, and propose solutions..

During the 2020 edition, the virtual agora consisted of a series of online events which took place between the 14th- 20th of December, the 12 tracks were based on the 17 SDGS: The climate action paths.

The Climate Action Paths (CAP) represent the framework of themes on which the conference was developed.

Taking inspiration from the Climate Action Pathways presented during the UN Summit in New York in September 2019, they framed the main areas upon which the Climate Social Forum organized the discussion in order to create knowledge on the topic, develop the main current issues and try to identify possible solutions (Knowledge Problems Solutions).

The CSF has encouraged the exchange of ideas and proposals by creating a space for dialogue between different perspectives, engaging a network of 30 associations, about 40 volunteers and more than 60 speakers from all regions of the world (Italy, India, Israel, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Bangladesh, Greece, Spain, etc.) to generate shared proposals to be developed at local, national and global levels.

This document resumes the outcomes of the Climate Social Forum divided by each Climate Action Pathway and organized according to the governance levels we want to reach: LOCAL, NATIONAL AND GLOBAL.
